TALX UC eXpress Adds State Response Center; National Contact Center Speeds Processing of Agency Inquiries

ST. LOUIS, Jan 27, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- TALX Corporation (Nasdaq:TALX), a leading business process outsourcer of payroll-related and human resource services, today announced that TALX UC eXpress(SM) has created a State Response Center featuring a national contact center to expedite the processing of its clients' unemployment claims. These new services were added in direct response to client and state agency requests.

"This new contact center provides state agencies with one source for answers to claim-related questions involving the 6,000 UC eXpress clients that receive unemployment cost management services," said Joyce Dear, managing director of UC eXpress. "By simplifying and speeding the claims determination process for state agencies, we expect better outcomes for our clients and a decrease in unemployment costs for our clients and the state agencies."

The call center operates between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Central Standard Time and is available to all 50 state agencies via a toll-free number, 1-800-UCX-1510 or 1-800-829-1510. Qualified agents are trained to research and answer time-sensitive questions related to unemployment claims within the state agencies' deadlines.

In addition, the TALX UC eXpress State Response Center expects to have additional opportunities to improve services for TALX clients. State Relationship Managers work directly with all 50 state unemployment agencies to better understand the agencies' needs and improve the delivery of services to both clients and state agencies. These managers are involved in state legislation as well as technology issues, including opportunities to increase electronic communication among state agencies, clients and TALX UC eXpress.
