Union Pacific Selects TALX for its ePayroll Services

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 8, 2004--TALX Corporation (NASDAQ:TALX), a leading provider of payroll and human resource services, announced that Union Pacific has implemented its ePayroll services.

With the completed implementation of paperless pay services, Union Pacific's approximately 58,000 employees and retirees will have Web and telephone access to their pay information. Union Pacific can expect to benefit from reduced costs, while employees receive even better service through pay stubs that are made available on-line.

"It was very important for us to have a service available to our employees 24/7 so that employees can quickly and easily handle routine matters themselves, such as accessing pay stubs and making W-4 and direct deposit changes," said Julie Phillips, Union Pacific senior manager of banking. "TALX ePayroll enables employees to access pay information more quickly. Union Pacific is reducing costs by eliminating the administrative, printing, and postage costs involved in distributing paper to a widely dispersed workforce."

Mike Errico, Union Pacific senior manager of payroll stated, "UP has also selected TALX to provide online W-2's and employee income verification services."

"We continue to see the demand for ePayroll and related services spreading to companies across diverse industries," said Jim Canfield, ePayroll product director. "TALX ePayroll simplifies the distribution of payroll information to employees across the United States. And, when using multiple TALX services, employers gain efficiencies and realize significant savings by eliminating paper and manual processes across many aspects of payroll and HR."
