TALX W-2 eXpressSM Service Simplifies W-2 Processes for 83 Employers and Nearly 5 Million Employees During 2001 Tax Season

W-2 eXpress prints and distributes original W-2 forms, processes reissues and corrections, and interfaces with popular tax preparation software and web sites.

St. Louis, MO - April 18, 2002 – TALX Corporation (NASDAQ: TALX), a leading outsourcer of employee and employer services, announced today that its W-2 eXpressSM service distributed print and electronic original W-2 forms for more than 1 million employees for the 2001 tax season. In addition, nearly 5 million W-2s from a record number of 83 clients were available on the service for reissue and correction purposes, as well as for easy access by employees. Many of these W-2 eXpress clients used the service for the second tax season in a row while others, as clients of The Work Number®, chose W-2 eXpress for its convenient new single sign-on feature that links both solutions.

W-2 eXpress also offers clients new value-added tax preparation capabilities through new TALX alliances with Intuit Inc. and H&R Block Inc. Through these alliances, employees can securely import tax information maintained by W-2 eXpress directly into Intuit's Quicken® TurboTax® desktop software products and the Turbo Tax for the WebSM service, as well as H&R Block's TaxCut® and H&R Block's Online Tax Program. In addition, H&R Block sponsored a tax center on the W-2 eXpress web site to help users prepare their taxes. Both of these alliances eliminate the need for employees to manually prepare tax forms or re-enter data, significantly reducing errors and speeding up the tax filing process.
