TALX Announces FasTime Integrated Time and Labor Solutions; Expanded Service Links Clocks, Phone and Web Time Collection, and Approvals

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 2004--TALX Corporation (NASDAQ:TALX), a leading business process outsourcer of payroll-related and human resource services, announces the integration of its FasTime(R) suite of time and labor solutions with TimeCentre(R), a leading innovator in real-time automated data capture for time and attendance.

The FasTime delivery platform now allows integrated time collection, approval and reporting through a variety of access methods including Web, telephone, PDA, wireless, time clock, hand punch and biometric devices. Utilizing state of the art technology from TimeCentre, FasTime can collect time from traditional card swipe clocks, as well as hand punch clocks that positively identify each employee by the unique size and shape of his or her hand. Biometric devices increase the security and accuracy of a company's time data by eliminating "buddy punching", unauthorized overtime and early-in punches.

"With this new partnership, FasTime Services, already widely adopted in North America by major businesses, now offers a complete suite of outsourced time capture and approval solutions for a wide variety of industries and enterprises," said Dick Herrmann, TALX Corporation's president of FasTime Services. "With new capabilities in the areas of time clock integration, scheduling, exception time, expense reporting and HR and payroll system support, FasTime can improve employee communication, lower costs, reduce errors and save time and money compared to manual paper-based processes."

This new combination also provides managers with seamless Web-based approval and reporting tools. The integrated FasTime Services automate the management of an enterprise labor force and track the cost of projects and jobs to provide essential HR management information as well as accurate payroll.

About FasTime

FasTime is a leading electronic timesheet collection and approval service. It provides user-friendly, toll-free telephone access for entering time. This platform reliably processes millions of timesheets and approvals each year and can be scaled to meet the needs of most any size enterprise without requiring large capital investments. Two of the many time collection applications that can be input via the telephone are elapsed and punch time. The FasTime application mirrors a company's existing employee timesheets. It also does the calculations, figures the week ending dates and can validate and confirm entries made by employees. The FasTime service is able to work with most HR information and payroll systems by using a unique, patent-pending information exchange system. A simple exchange of two files via industry-standard File Transfer Protocol (FTP) allows FasTime to provide time capture, approval and reporting.
